Welcome to the Chilterns Shopping Centre. Here you will find all you need to know about the centre, its business and its values.
The Chilterns Shopping Centre was opened in May 1987 and is located in the heart of High Wycombe in Buckinghamshire a town renowned for its innovation in furniture making.
The centre has the luxury of a non smoking environment with a Weekly average of 92,000 shoppers enjoying many of the well known high street stores like Wilkinson, Ernest Jones, Dorothy Perkins, Burton and Wallis.
Our team of experienced security officers pride themselves in local knowledge and excel in helping our customers to enjoy a safe and relaxing atmosphere.
With a catchment area of some 185000 people High Wycombe itself is just starting to be transformed into a major retail experience with the newly named Eden, a project of some 675,000 sq ft adjourning the Octagon shopping centre. This has now been completed and opened Easter 2008.
The Chilterns Centre has dedicated itself to helping the community and works in close partnership with Wycombe District Council over a number of community based projects. Annually we have held an elderly and disabled evening in November helped largely by Wycombe Youth Action, recently helped launch the local Royal British Legion poppy appeal, have close links to Dial a Ride and especially Shopmobility. In the summer the Chilterns along with Wycombe District Council, Thames Valley Police, Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue and Wycombe Watch present a Community Showcase to help the residents of High Wycombe become familiar with personal and home safety.
As a founder member of the High Wycombe Town Centre Partnership Ltd we are actively involved with the management of the town centre with the Town Centre Manager.
Throughout the calendar year our marketing company Messages PR Ltd organise various activities around such dates as Halloween, Valentines Day, Mothering Sunday and Shrove Tuesday. In the past we have sponsored real reindeer to attend the Towns Light Switching on ceremony who travels down from the Cairngorms Mountains in Scotland.
